Screen Daily is reporting that “About Time” came in first in the UK box office with an estimated $2.8m.

Universal’s romantic comedy scores an estimated $2.8m (£1.8m), including previews, to dethrone One Direction; eOne’s Riddick records $2.2m (£1.4m) debut, including previews, to land second.

Reportedly Richard Curtis’ last film as director, About Time has ensured he’ll go out of the directing game with a number one.

Universal’s romantic comedy scored an estimated $2.8m (£1.8m) debut from its 555 sites, including around $600,000 (£400,000) in previews.

The movie will get a limited release on November 1st and will go wide on November 8th in the US. The international release dates can be found on the official facebook page.
