Press Highlights: “About Time” Round-Up

As you may have noticed news is going a little bit slow lately after the end of the promotion tour for “About Time” in London and Germany. Rachel was busy the last few weeks filming “Every Thing Will Be Fine” in Montreal, and she was spotted out & about in Honolulu, Hawaii earlier this week for pre-production work/rehearsals for the Untitled Cameron Crowe/Hawaii/Deep Tiki project. We will round-up some “About Time” related press highlights in this post.

• First of all, Screen Daily has some international box office numbers for the movie. After opening at #1 in the UK it still came in 4th in the UK box office last weekend (second week).

Working Title rom-com About Time starring Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson debuted in seven territories on $2.1m from 777 theatres for an early $9.5m. The film added $1.2m in the UK from 457 for $8.5m after three weekends.

• The movie is selected for the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain, which runs from September 20-September 28, as part of the ‘Pearl’ selection. The movie will have screenings on September 24, 25 and 26. It also got selected for the Rio Film Festival in Brazil, which runs from September 26-October 10, as part of the ‘World Panorama’ selection. The movie also got selected for the Hawaii International Film Festival, which runs from October 10-October 20. The movie will screen on October 20, the closing day of the festival.

• As reported before the movie is selected for the New York Film Festival, which runs from September 27-October 13, and the public screenings will take place October 1st and 2nd. The festival already screened the movie for the media and or critics earlier this week so we hope the first reviews will be released soon.

• Script editor Emma Freud (and partner of Richard Curtis) mentioned earlier this week that the cast of the movie were recording the DVD commentary. We assume only Domhnall Gleeson, Bill Nighy and Richard Curtis will be part of the commentary since Rachel was not in London.

Rachel will start filming the Untitled Cameron Crowe/Hawaii/Deep Tiki project next week (September 23 or 26 depending on the source) so let’s hope we will get some on set pictures soon.
