“A Most Wanted Man” Selected for EIFF 2014

The 68th Edinburgh International Film Festival unveiled their line-up for this year’s film festival last week and “A Most Wanted Man” is part of program as part of the Directors’ Showcase and is also nominated for the audience award. The festival runs from 18 to 29 June and the movie will have it’s first screening June 22 followed by a second screening on June 26.

A Most Wanted Man
Anton Corbijn / UK, USA, Germany / 2014 / 122 mins

A John le Carré bestseller brought to stunning life

Anton Corbijn’s sumptuously shot, impeccably structured adaptation of John le Carré’s 2008 bestselling novel is a thoroughly gripping tale set in the dangerous and dingy world of a post-9/11 German intelligence unit. Tensions are high as unit head Günther Bachmann (a truly accomplished performance by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman) is drawn into a deadly web of intrigue and espionage on the streets of Hamburg. A captivating story full of twists and surprises, expertly brought to life by a thoroughly talented cast.

As you may have noticed the reported running time of the movie is one minute longer than the version shown at Sundance earlier this year which had a 121 minutes running time. For more information about the festival and to find our how to book tickets be sure to head over to the official website of the festival. “A Most Wanted Man” will be released on July 25 in the US followed by a September 5 release for the UK.
