“Spotlight” Heading To Venice?

Mark Ruffalo attended the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy earlier this week and received the Giffoni Experience Award. Various Italian sources – including Fare Film – are reporting that he revealed his next movie “Spotlight” is selected for this year’s Venice Film Festival. THR also confirms the reports:

Ruffalo can next be seen in Tom McCarthy’s Spotlight, with Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber and Michael Keaton, about how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive cover-up of child molestation within the Catholic church. He hinted the film will screen in the upcoming Venice Fim Festival in September.

The 72nd edition of the festival runs from September 2-12 and the official line-up will be announced next Wednesday, July 29th. Let’s hope the movie is indeed heading to Venice.
