The next generation of Hollywood frequently expresses their admiration and love for Rachel when asked who their favorite actress is or who their role model is. Movies as “The Notebook” and “Mean Girls” seem a fan favorite among young Hollywood.

Disney Alumni

Rachel herself began her career at Disney. She guest starred in the Disney Channel Original Series “The Famous Jett Jackson“. This might be a reason why fellow Disney stars and alumni often express their admiration for Rachel. One of Rachel’s biggest fans, and fellow Disney alumni, is probably Selena Gomez (Spring Breakers, Wizards of Waverly Place). Gomez has frequently mentioned Rachel as her favorite actress over the years.

Thorne also mentioned in 2015 that she hopes one of her movies will be “somewhat like The Notebook”.

Other Disney alumni fans include Danielle Panabaker and Ashley Tisdale. The latter is discussed later on. Panabaker (The Flash) named Rachel one of her favorite actress on her official website.

Mean Girls

Rachel’s performance in “Mean Girls” as pop-culture favorite Regina George is not only a fan favorite in general. Many young hollywood actors drew used Rachel’s performance as resource for playing the mean girl themselves. Actress Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) portrayed Sharpay Evans in Disney’s High School Musical and watched “Mean Girls” to prepare for the role. During the press for the movie she reveals: “I really liked Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls, because you love to hate that character. She was so good, that you always wanted her on screen”. Fun fact: Tisdale and Rachel were photographed together an after party for a premiere back in 2012.

Another actress who drew inspiration from Rachel’s performance in “Mean Girls” is Emma Roberts (We’re the Millers, Wild Child). Roberts plays the mean girl in Ryan Murphy’s series “Scream Queens” and she says, “Regina George is definitely a source of inspiration”. Roberts seems to be one of Rachel’s biggest fans, as she frequently mentioned Rachel as her favorite actress or inspiration in various interviews over the years. Roberts even thinks Rachel deserved an Oscar nomination for her work in “Mean Girls” and shared this via her official twitter account. Fun Fact #1: Roberts presented a Teen Choice Awards alongside Ryan Reynolds to Rachel and her “The Notebook” co-star Ryan Gosling back in 2005. Fun Fact #2: Emma Roberts seems to share her love for Rachel with her aunt Julia Roberts (Nothing Hill, Erin Brockovich). Both of them have mentioned in various interviews that they want to work with Rachel.

Hollywood’s Crush

Rachel is Marie Claire‘s “preeminent girl crush” and young hollywood seems to agree. Actor Grant Gustin’s (The Flash, Glee) revealed his crush is Rachel. Back in 2012 when he was asked by Billboard which celebrity he would like to meet: “I initially went to Rachel McAdams but I don’t know what I would do if I met her. Sometimes it pains me to watch her movies. I’m not mildly obsessed, I have such a crush on her that sometimes I can’t even bring myself to look at her on screen”. Fun fact: Gustin was one of the presenters at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards and he later (jokingly) recalls being starstruck by Rachel because he was in the same room as Rachel, who also attended the event.

Actor Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Fury) agrees with Grant as he calls Rachel his “dream girl” in 2010. He also recalls meeting her, “I saw her [Rachel McAdams] in a restaurant once and it was the first time I’ve actually frozen up around a girl. I couldn’t even look in the direction of where she was sitting! I’m a huge fan of hers”.

Fellow Canadians

Rachel is often named America’s sweetheart but she also gets plenty of love from her homecountry Canada. One of her biggest fans is actress Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries). Dobrev is also from Ontario.
